Recessed Speakers

In either a new build or when you can panel in a wall, recessed speakers can give a flush look and still achieve exceptional performance. In this type of installation the system design is critical to the end result. 

For the technically minded the speaker layout is worth discussing, but rather than go into it here you can look at our geek section on centre loudspeakers which covers the science of this.

The main components of a recessed system starts from around £ 7-8000, and with a custom design, all cables, interconnects, installation, calibration, and programming is likely to be starting from £9-10,000. Anything less than this will not have the correct dispersion and will be a waste of money.

Pictured is the Kef Reference 9000 In wall, giving exceptional performance from this layout they come with both black and white grilles or can be left showing the solid aluminium front for a technical look.

Moving up from this can give significant upgrades in both picture and sound. In-wall speakers in the Linn Komponent and Kef 9000 ranges will give exceptional in-wall performance identical to what can be achieved from cabinet loudspeakers. Your completed project will unfortunately jump to the £ 12,000 to £ 19,000 range.

Making this better again we look at Cinemascope screens matched with Cinemascope lenses. Adding  this exciting upgrade will also add at least £ 3800, and can add over £ 10k to a high end system.
