In this type of installation the system design and choice of equipment is critical to the end result. The layout can be 5.1, 7.1 or you can add Dolby Atmos and run up to 7.2.4 if you have the room, and the budget!

The main components of a recessed system start from around £ 2500 for the amplifier and speakers. This would be using either 4 ceiling speakers with a flat centre/vocal speaker mounted close to the screen or 5 ceiling speakers. If using ceiling speakers then the choice of amplifier is very important as it has to 'steer' the sound from the ceiling to the listening position, we have a few favourites that are exceptional at this

The screen can be a large flat screen, up to 85", or a projector with a screen up to 136" diagonal, that's more than 4 times the size of a 65" screen!

A complete installed project with a custom design, speakers, amplifier, OLED acreen, all cables, interconnects, installation, calibration, and programming prices start around £ 5500. With a 4k projector and matching screen this will be close to £10,000
