We used a full Linn Klimax active music system to showcase the Studio Master of the Amy Winehouse  album Hidden Treasures. Previously unreleased material along with different versions of some favourites sounded great, and George from Linn gave his research of Amy's life story. Interesting and entertaining, a social time was had before and after chatting about music, systems, and playing some great music.

There was also time for a technical explanation of streaming, bit rates, MP3, cd, and Studio Masters and how to make it all work in a networked home.

Thanks again George, and looking forward already to the next one on 16th April, John Coltrane. This is deliberately not aimed only at jazz affici onados, and if you would simply like to know more about the different jazz artists to check out then this will be a really good starting point

2 Rolling Stones GRRR, a greatest hits in Studio Quality showed what a great band and how many great intros.

Also how much better the recordings became over the years.

Early stuff sounded really 60s, then 70s and 80s tracks showed how the production standards in rock n roll got better and better. Shame as many 50s and 60s recordings were excellent, compare Buddy Holly and virtually any verve/blue note recording of the period

Interesting comparisons between Stones and southern blues, howlin wolf, mussy waters, etc
